People search video for prices, places and how-tos
"Brunch Dubai Marina", "how to get golden visa as a content creator", "car detailing price Dubai": these get typed into YouTube and TikTok as well as Google. A short video that answers one such question keeps getting views long after a post has dropped out of the feed, because search, not the algorithm's mood that week, sends it viewers.

What the platforms say they rank on
YouTube. Its help page on how search works names three elements: relevance, engagement and quality. Relevance includes "how well the title, tags, description, and video content match your search query". Results can also reflect the searcher's own watch and search history, so two people see different lists.
TikTok. TikTok's explanation of its recommendations lists user interactions, video information "such as captions, sounds, and hashtags", and device and account settings, which carry less weight. It also says follower count is not a direct factor. TikTok doesn't publish separate rules for search ranking.
What both have in common: the platform has to understand what the video is about from text and content, then sees whether people who searched for it watched and engaged.
Our data: the languages people ask for
We pulled YouTube's autocomplete for 47 seed queries about marketing and starting a business in Dubai, such as "photographer dubai", "ai chatbot for business", "advertiser permit uae", with the region set to the UAE and the interface in English, on 13 October 2026. Of 1,077 distinct suggestions, 141 (13%) end with a language:
| Language in the suggestion | Suggestions | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Tamil | 45 | "cost of photographer dubai in tamil" |
| Malayalam | 40 | "advertiser permit uae malayalam" |
| Hindi | 35 | "ai chatbot for business in hindi" |
| Telugu | 15 | "cost of photoshoot dubai in telugu" |
| Urdu | 6 | "cost of smm dubai in urdu" |
| Arabic or Russian | 0 | — |
Limits: autocomplete shows what people type, not how many; it's one day, one interface language. Arabic and Russian speakers likely search in their own script, which an English-language pull doesn't capture. Still, the pattern is clear enough to act on: there's demand for practical Dubai explainers in South Asian languages, and few businesses answer it.

Title, caption, screen, voice: the checklist
| Element | YouTube Shorts | TikTok |
|---|---|---|
| Search phrase | In the title, near the start | In the first line of the caption |
| Description or caption | One or two sentences that answer the question, with the area and the price range if relevant | Same; skip walls of hashtags |
| On-screen text | The question in the first second | Same |
| Spoken words | Say the phrase in the first sentence | Same |
| Hashtags | 2–3 specific ones | 3–5 specific ones; #dubai alone is too broad |
| Length | Up to 3 minutes if vertical; shorter if the answer is shorter | Shortest full answer |
| Language | Match the language of the search | Same |
A worked example. A Business Bay clinic wants patients searching "laser hair removal price dubai":
- Title: "Laser hair removal price in Dubai: what's included"
- First second on screen: "How much is laser in Dubai?"
- First spoken line: "Laser hair removal in Dubai usually costs..." with a range you actually charge.
- Caption: one line with the area and a WhatsApp link in the profile.
Medical ads in Dubai have their own rules; see DHA social media rules for clinics before you film.
What to film first
Make a list of the 20 questions customers ask on WhatsApp before they buy. Each is a search query someone types on YouTube or TikTok. Film one answer per question, under a minute where possible, in the language the customer asked in. That list is also your FAQ page and your Google Business Profile Q&A.
What nobody tells you
Search views arrive slowly. A feed video peaks in days; a search video can take weeks to find its audience and then keeps going. Judge after 60–90 days, not 48 hours.
Trending sounds can work against search. A trending track helps in the feed. If nobody says anything, the platform has less to match a search query to. For search videos, voice beats music.
The same video, three platforms, different first lines. Reels, Shorts and TikTok captions should each start with the phrase people search on that platform. Copy-pasting one caption everywhere wastes two of the three.
Vladimir Chernyshev, GM: the cheapest content strategy for a Dubai service business is to answer its own WhatsApp questions on camera. You already know what people ask; filming the answers turns sales chats into search traffic.
