How much does video production cost in Dubai in 2026

Camera crew filming a stage

A solo videographer in Dubai costs about AED 1,800–3,000 for half a day and AED 2,500–5,000 for a full day, per published market rates. A 1–3 minute corporate video usually lands between AED 6,000 and AED 18,000, while agency productions start around AED 15,000 and TV commercials go from AED 50,000 into six figures. Add AED 520 plus AED 2,500 for a DFTC filming permit when you shoot in public locations.

Where these numbers come from

No UAE authority publishes statistics on video production prices. Every market range below comes from price lists that studios publish on their own sites, or from pricing guides written by production agencies. Treat them as the asking prices of the companies that bothered to put numbers online, not as an audited average. We link each figure to the page it came from, checked on 13 October 2026.

We are a production agency too, so our own prices sit in a separate column and carry our name. You can compare them with the market and decide for yourself.

What a videographer costs by the hour and by the day

The cheapest way to buy video in Dubai is to hire a videographer for shooting time and handle the rest yourself. videography.ae's 2026 guide puts the market at:

FormatMarket rangeSource
Shoot only, per hourAED 200–800videography.ae
Half day (up to 5 hours)AED 1,800–3,000videography.ae
Full day, solo senior shooterAED 2,500–5,000videography.ae
Extra hour, videoAED 350–500Shoot Empire

Two published price lists show how the day rate grows with the crew. Studio502 charges AED 2,000 for a solo day, AED 4,500 with a team for light and sound, and AED 8,000 for multi-camera with a director. Its extra hour costs AED 350, drone adds AED 1,500 and a same-day edit adds AED 2,000. videography.ae's packages start at AED 3,000 for half a day and AED 4,400 for a full day.

Editing is where quotes stop being comparable. We found no separate hourly price lists for editing in Dubai. Most videographers fold the edit into the package, so ask what "edit included" means: how many cuts, how many revision rounds, which formats.

Corporate video

The three corporate ranges overlap but don't match. Media Partners stops at AED 18,000 for up to 3 minutes. People Perfect starts lower, at AED 5,000, and runs past AED 50,000. The low end usually means one shooter, one location and a simple edit. The top end means a scripted film with a director, several days and motion graphics. When two quotes for "a 2-minute company video" differ by a factor of five, they describe different films.

Real estate

Two sources, two ways of counting: People Perfect prices a walkthrough at AED 2,500–5,500, videography.ae prices AED 1,000–3,500 per unit. Real estate ads have their own legal step: every listing post needs a Trakheesi permit. See our guide to real estate advertising rules in Dubai and our real estate video service.

Reels and short-form

A content day that produces a batch of reels sits at AED 2,000–7,000. Monthly subscriptions apply the same logic on a schedule: fixed shooting days, a fixed number of reels.

Budget lines people forget

A day rate covers the crew. A commercial shoot in Dubai often needs more.

The filming permit

Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC) issues media filming permits across the emirate, including free zones and DIFC. The processing fee is AED 520 per application, non-refundable. The current DFTC (now the Dubai Films and Games Commission) table, as reported by Khaleej Times, adds AED 2,500 for a government location, valid for up to 7, 14 or 30 days depending on the project type. The sources disagree on advertising: the DFTC table gives 30 days, while Resolution 50/2014 itself says up to 3 days, so confirm the period on your application. A private venue open to the public, such as a mall or hotel, may not charge more than AED 25,000 a day.

Filming without a permit or without script approval can cost AED 10,000, then AED 40,000 on a repeat under Cabinet Resolution 42/2025, the penalty table enforced by the National Media Authority (NMA, formerly UAE Media Council). Our filming permit guide covers the steps.

The talent example comes from one casting call in February 2026. Notice the usage fee: the right to use a model's face in ads is a separate line, and it often costs as much as the shooting day.

Drone flights also carry their own paperwork with GCAA or Dubai's DCAA. We cover it in drone filming rules in Dubai.

We found no reliable market price for renting a penthouse or villa as a location, so we left it out.

Three sample budgets

These combine the ranges above. They are arithmetic on published prices, not quotes.

  1. Reels for a café, one day. A content day at AED 2,000–7,000, shot inside your own venue. Ask whether your shoot needs a DFTC permit before you book; our permit guide explains who issues it.
  2. 2-minute corporate film. AED 6,000–18,000 for production, plus AED 520 and AED 2,500 if you shoot exteriors in a public location.
  3. Lifestyle ad with a yacht and a model. Two hours of yacht from AED 4,200, a model's half day at AED 1,200 plus usage, a full-day crew from AED 4,500, and the permit.

How to compare two quotes

  • Ask how many finished videos you get, in which formats (9:16, 16:9) and lengths.
  • Ask how many revision rounds the price includes.
  • Check whether the permit, studio, talent and music are in the quote or billed separately.
  • Ask who owns the footage and whether you get raw files.
  • Ask for the delivery date in days after the shoot.

A cheap day rate with a slow, separately billed edit can end up costing more than a package. Music needs its own line too: the right to use a track inside a video (sync) is licensed separately from the public-performance music licence, and Meta's Sound Collection is cleared only for Meta's own surfaces, according to one agency review of the licences.

Questions people ask

How much does a videographer cost per hour in Dubai?

Market articles put shoot-only rates at AED 200–800 per hour. Extra hours on top of a package run AED 350–500 for video at one studio, and AED 350 at another. These are agency figures, not official statistics.

What is the average cost of a corporate video in Dubai?

Agency guides quote AED 6,000–18,000 for a 1–3 minute film, AED 10,000–50,000 for 2–5 minutes, and AED 5,000 to over AED 50,000 in the widest range. The spread comes from crew size, number of shooting days, scripting and post-production.

Do I need a filming permit for a commercial shoot in Dubai?

Yes, for media shoots in the emirate, including free zones and DIFC, Dubai Film and TV Commission (DFTC) issues the permit. The processing fee is AED 520 per application and the current DFTC table lists AED 2,500 for a public location, valid for a set number of days by project type.

How much does drone footage add to a video budget?

One studio charges an extra AED 1,500 for drone on a shoot day. Dedicated drone operators list sessions from AED 1,500, and a marketplace shows an average of about AED 900 with a range of AED 370–3,350. Commercial drone flights also need GCAA or DCAA authorisation.
