Supercar photoshoot in Dubai: AED 499 for 30 minutes or AED 3,000 a day, and the AED 1,000 fine for stopping on the road

Front view of a turquoise supercar with LED lights

A supercar photoshoot in Dubai costs from AED 499 for a 30-minute package with a parked car and a photographer, or AED 1,400–6,000 a day if you rent the car yourself, up to AED 13,000 for a Lamborghini Revuelto. The legal risk sits on the road, not in the price: stopping a car on the road without reason is an AED 1,000 fine and 6 black points, and revving a loud car for a reel can cost AED 2,000 and 12 points.

Three ways to get a supercar into your photos

There are three formats, and the right one depends on whether you need to drive.

Some marketplace deals go lower still: a Groupon listing bundles an hour of "supercar" rental with photography for around AED 211. At that price, ask which car you actually get.

The weekend-only catch: the AED 499–899 packages above run Saturday and Sunday, 13:00 to 18:00, which in winter means you miss most of the golden hour.

Worked example: one-day Huracán shoot

Say you rent a Huracán Evo coupe at AED 2,500 a day and shoot Downtown at 8 am, the Marina at noon and Al Qudra at sunset.

Compare with the AED 499 studio package: if you only need "me next to a Lambo" for Instagram, the package wins by a wide margin. If you need motion, several locations and the car in golden hour, the day rental is the only format that gives you all three.

Who can drive: licence and age

Visitors from countries on the UAE's recognised list drive on their home licence; everyone else needs an International Driving Permit together with the national licence, as Gulf News explains. One Dubai rental firm lists Russia, Kazakhstan, India and the Philippines among the countries that need the IDP, and warns that after an accident the insurer may refuse to pay a driver without one. The legal minimum age to rent is 21, but supercar firms often ask for 25.

Rules on the road: the fines that hit car content

The federal fines table in Ministerial Resolution No. 178 of 2017 has three lines that matter for a car shoot:

ViolationFineBlack points
Stopping in the middle of the road without a justified reasonAED 1,0006
Stopping in prohibited areas on the left shoulderAED 1,000—
Driving a noisy vehicleAED 2,00012

Using the hard shoulder without reason carries AED 1,000, 6 points and 30 days' impoundment in Dubai Police's list as summarised by UAE Timing, and What's On's August 2026 round-up notes that noisy-vehicle cases can end in impoundment. The rental contract passes all of this to you, usually by charging the deposit or your card.

Permits for the shoot itself

Personal photos next to a parked car in a public place need no permit. Content that promotes a business is commercial, and that includes tagging the rental company in exchange for a discount. A commercial shoot needs the city filming permit at AED 520 per application; our filming permit guide covers the process and this location guide lists who approves Downtown, the Marina and the desert. Any rolling shot or road closure goes through RTA and Dubai Police; RTA's catalogue lists a road closure permit for public events and nothing simpler. A drone chasing the car needs its own approvals, see our drone guide.

What nobody tells you

  • Car parks are private land. The Dubai Mall or Atlantis car park is owned by the developer. Security will move you on if a tripod comes out.
  • The famous empty road shots are closures or very early mornings. If a reel shows an empty Sheikh Zayed Road, either it was 5 am or someone had RTA and police on board.
  • Golden hour versus weekend-only packages. Check the sunset time for your date and the package hours before you pay.
  • Heat. Black paint and leather seats in summer: shoot early, keep the car in shade between set-ups, and read our summer heat guide.
  • Influencer posts. If you post the result as an ad for the rental company, you need an Advertiser Permit, or a visitor permit if you are on a tourist visa.

Questions people ask

How much does a supercar photoshoot cost in Dubai?

From AED 499 for a 30-minute package with a parked car, 10 photos and a reel, per one studio's price list. A drive shoot in the same studio is AED 899, a 2-hour multi-location shoot AED 2,700. Renting the car yourself for a day starts around AED 1,400 for a Porsche 911 and AED 2,500–3,200 for a Huracán.

Can I stop on Sheikh Zayed Road for a photo?

No. Stopping on the road without a justified reason is an AED 1,000 fine and 6 black points under the federal traffic rules, and using the hard shoulder without reason adds impoundment risk. Shoot in car parks, quiet side streets or approved locations.

Do I need a permit for a car photoshoot?

No for personal photos from public places. Yes if the content promotes a business, including the rental company or a brand you tag for barter: then the city filming permit (AED 520 per application) applies, and any road closure or rolling shot needs RTA and Dubai Police.

Can a Russian tourist drive a rented supercar in Dubai?

Yes, with an International Driving Permit plus the national licence. Russia is not on the UAE list of licences accepted on their own. Most supercar firms also want the driver to be 25 or older.

Is a deposit always required?

No. Deposits usually run AED 5,000–20,000, but several Dubai firms advertise no-deposit options, often with a higher daily rate or stricter terms. Fines and Salik tolls are charged after the rental either way.
